2. What this website does
This website provides information about the independent video game project Crystal Crash and allows visitors to join the Crystal Crash mailing list.
3. Personal data we collect
a) Mailing list
If you voluntarily subscribe to the mailing list, we process:
- your email address,
- the date and time of registration,
- confirmation of your subscription through the Double Opt-In process.
The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Why Double Opt-In?
After entering your email address, you will receive a confirmation email containing a confirmation link. Your subscription becomes active only after clicking this link. This procedure helps document your consent and is the standard approach recommended in Germany for newsletter registrations.
4. What we use your email for
After confirmation, we may send emails about:
- development updates,
- release announcements,
- Crystal Crash events,
- information about the World Cup,
- future preorder announcements,
- other project-related news.
Your email address will never be sold.
5. Unsubscribing
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. The withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.
6. Email service provider
The mailing list is currently operated in-house using the website’s own hosting infrastructure (see section 7). No third-party email marketing service (such as Brevo, Mailchimp or ConvertKit) is involved. If a third-party provider is engaged in the future, this section will be updated before any subscriber data is transferred.
7. Hosting
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. The hosting provider automatically processes technical data necessary to operate and secure the website. This may include:
- IP address,
- browser information,
- operating system,
- date and time of access,
- requested pages.
These server logs are processed to ensure the secure operation of the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
8. Cookies
This website is designed to operate without non-essential cookies wherever possible. If optional cookies or tracking technologies are introduced later, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access your personal data,
- rectify inaccurate data,
- erase your data,
- restrict processing,
- receive your data in a portable format,
- object to certain processing,
- withdraw consent at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.

Certain information may be retained where necessary to document your withdrawal of consent or to comply with legal obligations.
Server logs
Technical log files are retained only for as long as necessary for security and technical operation.

At the moment, this website does not include advertising trackers. If services such as YouTube videos, embedded social media posts or analytics tools are added later, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those services are activated.
